3 members of fake mobile manufacturing gang arrested
It was found that fake mobiles are being made on the seventh floor of Eastern Plaza under Kalabagan police station in the capital! These mobiles were made from stolen mobile parts. The cybercrime department of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three people including the engineer of the fake mobile manufacturing gang on Sunday, March 17. Around 370 fake phones and mobile parts of different brands were also seized from them.
In a press conference at the DB office on Monday, March 18, DB chief Haroon-or-Rashid said that after carrying out raids, we recovered Vivo, Oppo, iPhone, Redmi, Realme phones and motherboards from them. Although the arrested accused are not literate; 5th to 8th grade pass, but they were making fake mobile phones for years and marketing them at low prices.
The DB chief said that the police will now investigate who is involved with the arrested accused and who bought those.
He said, they have told us in which market they sell the fake mobiles. We are told that these mobiles are delivered in whole country through online and courier services. They are sold from Eastern Plaza, Motaleb Plaza and Nahar Plaza.
DB head Haroon Ur Rashid advises everyone to check the IMEI of the mobile phone and buy the phone at a low price to avoid buying fake mobiles.
